At this point, saying that Star Wars™ Battlefront™ II has had a rocky launch would be a gross understatement. EA seems to be attempting to address at least some of the issues though, with today’s patch announcement of some significant economic changes in preparation for the launch of Star Wars™ Battlefront™ II The Last Jedi Season.

Per EA’s official Battlefront™ II blog, today’s economy patch included the following significant changes:

  • End of Round Payouts Increased. An across the board increase in Credits received per match. Top players on each team will see additional gains over and above the baseline increase.
  • Daily Arcade Mode Credit Cap Increased 3x. Where Arcade Mode initially capped daily earnings at 500 credits, it’s now been increased to 1500 Credits per day. EA says players were hitting the daily cap faster than expected, as opposed to it being a deliberate design decision to slow progress, but regardless of why it’s being improved, it’s been improved. EA also says they’re looking for ways to add more content to the mode as a long-term solution.
  • Daily Login Crates provide more crafting parts. No specific numbers for what constitutes “more”, but some quantity greater than it was for players who logged in for their daily bonus last week.

EA also notes that new locations and vehicles, plus additional chapters to Battlefront™ II’s single-player campaign, arrive on December 13th as a free update, timed to arrive just before Star Wars: The Last Jedi lands in theaters. There are also hints in the blog that further economy adjustments are coming.

EA definitely has an uphill battle here to regain players’ trust. However, both the development team and the accountants pulling the strings seem to be taking the volume of negative feedback to heart here. This writer hopes that these changes are a sign of things to come and that Battlefront™ II can manage a solid turn-around into the Star Wars game everyone hoped it would be.Star Wars Battlefront II Destroy Shield Generator
