Multiple Games Launching This Month from Team17

UK-based developer/publisher Team17 started the new year off with massive blast by announcing the January 2018 release of three titles: The Escapists 2Forged Battalion and My Time at Portia.

The Escapists 2, Mouldy Toof Studios’ follow-up to the award-winning, pixelated sandbox prison-escape game, is headed to the Nintendo Switch on January 11th. The game boasts some major changes and new features, including improved graphics, crating, and combat, and the hottest fan-requested addition, multiplayer. Players can now stage their own prison break anywhere with anyone, even team up with another inmate in local two-player mode. Players can also compete against each other to see who can break out of jail the fastest.

Forged Battalion is a new and innovate take on RTS strategy games from Command & Conquer veterans, Petroglyph Games, arriving on Steam Early Access on January 16th. Players can fight in a variety of skirmish, solo, and multiplayer battles, and continuously customize their ever-evolving faction. Using gained resources from each battle, players will be able to unlock various items on their tech tree that allow them to choose their archetype, as well as armor, weapons, and special abilities such as stealth and regeneration. The combinations are endless and allow players to create unique factions that align with their strategy and playstyle.

Last, but not least, is Pathea’s My Time at Portia. Inspired by games like Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon, and Dark Cloud 2, and the Japanese animation film studio, Studio Ghibli, My Time at Portia is a wondrous 3D sandbox adventure headed to Steam Early Access on January 23rd. Players will set sail for Portia, a charming town on the edge of civilization, and discover a workshop left by their Pa. Here players can start a new life, gathering raw materials, mining and crafting their way to become the best workshop in the entire town—with roadblocks and setbacks, of course. Starting a new life is never meant to be easy.

In addition, Team17 also has several more games slated for release in 2018:

  • Sword Legacy: Omen, a challenging turn-based tactical RPG with a dark, cartoon-inspired aesthetic.
  • Rescue survivors, defeat aliens, collect crystals and save the world in supercharged action-packed puzzler, Mugsters.
  • Genesis: Alpha One, a unique mix of FPS, roguelike, base building and cloning, by veterans who have worked Hitman: Blood MoneySpec Ops and The Settlers.
  • And others!
