PAX Prime 2012: Frost Wars

When someone talks to me about strategy games, my go-to is Civilization. I’ve been playing the Civilization games since, well, Civilization. I will almost always choose a turn-based strategy game over a real-time strategy game, partially because of my upbringing with the aforementioned Civilization. Civilization is always a long-term investment of time, however, and isn’t always really...[Read More]

PAX Prime 2012: Neverwinter

Fifteen months ago, I beheld greatness. I’m going to say this again, just in case people don’t listen and understand: Neverwinter Nights is one of my favorite games…OF. ALL. TIME. In fact, I have the Diamond Edition DVD sitting on my desk about a foot and a half away from me just in case I feel the urge to delve deep into its perfect adventure. I’m not kidding around here, ...[Read More]

PAX Prime 2012: Card Hunter

A few months before my 15th birthday, my mother and I moved from Oklahoma City, where I grew up, to California. I know what you’re thinking…”Wow, California? There are so many awesome cities there with so much to do, how did you choose?” Well, we went where the family was, and that was glorious, beautiful, exciting…Fresno. Fresno, which is pretty much a smaller, more ...[Read More]

PAX Prime 2012: Harold

I absolutely adore beautiful games. Mechanics are important, don’t get me wrong; a game can be as beautiful as the sun rising over a forested mountain range in the distance while morning dew catches its rays, but if it plays like a piece of my neighbor’s cat feces in my front yard…well, the smell ruins the experience, if you know what I mean. When I was preparing my schedule for ...[Read More]

Review: Mark of the Ninja (XBLA)

Stealth titles are not, nor have they ever really been, the kind of games that gripped my interest in any meaningful way. I have dabbled, and have tasted of their fruits, but I have never found myself enthralled. I dislike being forced into a particular play style by having a weakened player character, and I tend to enjoy the action and thrill of direct confrontation over the slower, more meticulo...[Read More]

Review: Legasista (PSN)

No company fills a niche market like NIS. Every esoteric taste is catered to and satisfied, and the PSN release of Legasista is no different. From the art style, to the over-wrought and cliché-filled dialogue, to the wonderfully androgynous characters, Legasista is not a game with broad appeal, but for those that crave it, celebration is in order.

Marvel vs Capcom Origins Release Date Announced

It’s time for the XBLA/PSN fighting game market to add one more title to its ranks. Capcom has announced a release date for its upcoming compilation title, Marvel vs. Capcom Origins. Combining Marvel Super Heroes and Marve vs. Capcom: Clash of the Super Heroes, Marvel vs. Capcom Origins will be available in the US on September 25th for PSN, and on September 26th for XBLA for $14.99/1200MSP.

New Dance Central 3 Story “Movie Trailer” Released

I’m a huge fan of the Dance Central franchise from Harmonix, and with each new piece of information and with each new video that comes from them for Dance Central 3, a smile spreads across my face. I mean, come on, who doesn’t want to dance the night away with some awesome songs and great Kinect recognition? Today, Harmonix has released a new video detailing the recently announced stor...[Read More]

Review: Rock Band Blitz (XBLA)

I’ve spent the past week playing the upcoming Rock Band Blitz from Harmonix on Xbox Live, and let me tell you, I can not get enough of this game. I’ve easily spent upwards of 50+ hours of the last week on Rock Band Blitz alone. I’ve even given up temporarily on a few other games because my old college Rock Band addiction was starting to come back. Five years after Rock Band made ...[Read More]

Assassins Creed III + Food Truck = Free Food at PAX Prime

When gaming conventions and events get closer, it always seems “FREE FOOD” is brought up at some point. PAX Prime 2012 is no different. An email has come in telling attendees where to get some free food for a short time at this year’s PAX. Sadly, I won’t be there to charge the food truck, but I know that some of you reading will be, so it’s with you in mind that I put...[Read More]
