The Top 5 Batman Crossovers

In keeping with Batman-month, I’m going to talk about one of the coolest things when dealing with comics: the crossover. These are my top five Batman crossovers.

The Dark Knight Rises…But To What?

With the announcement that the first trailer for The Dark Knight Rises is attached to the upcoming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, we’re finally going to get a glimpse of just what this eagerly anticipated film will be about. Until things are made official, I’m going to go on a little ramble about several theories I’ve both heard, and thought up on my own.

The Origins of Zombies

With every paranormal or mythological creature, there is a plausible back story that can explain the origins of the creature. So, let us take a moment or two to explore some popular creatures found in today’s culture and media.

Comic Book Deaths And The Stupidity That Is Killing Super Hero Comics

You may have heard that Marvel is going to kill Spider-Man. Except that they aren’t. We know that by now, right? Its all a sham, a way to boost sales. Things will return to the status quo eventually, everybody will have a good laugh and they’ll forget all about it. So why do they keep doing things like this? And why do we keep buying them?

Review: Scott Pilgrim vs. The World

I had heard of Scott Pilgrim before, but had never taken the time to read the books (so kindly reviewed by Eddy).  After seeing an advance screening of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World last night thanks to our friends Chris and Kelly, and new friends Loren and Lauren, I plan on rectifying that mistake shortly.  I had mixed expectations for this movie going in; On the positive side you have Edgar Wright...[Read More]

Free Comic Book Day

May is a wonderful month.  May 4th is the unofficial Star Wars Day (May the Fourth be with you!), May 5th is another unofficial Star Wars Day (Revenge of the Fifth!), May 25th is Towel Day (I’m a hoopy frood who really knows where his towel is!), and more!  What we’re here to talk about today, however, is Free Comic Book Day! The first Saturday in May is always set aside as the officia...[Read More]

Irredeemable

Well over a year ago, I posted about the then-upcoming new series from Mark Waid titled Irredeemable.  The series started in April of 2009, but I didn’t get a chance to pick it up until this past weekend.  What happened this past weekend?  Free Comic Book Day happened. While standing in line at Heroes here in Fresno, I started thinking to myself, “Hey, when we get in there, why not see...[Read More]
