Today, Sega released more screenshots and a gameplay trailer for Vanquish, the hotly anticipated sci-fi third person shooter. Directed by Shinji Mikami, the creator of Resident Evil and executive producer for Viewtiful Joe and Devil May Cry, Vanquish is shaping up to be one of 2010’s ‘must-have’ games.Coming out for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on October 19th, Vanquish thrusts you into the role of Sam Gideon. Sam is a government agent who dons an awesome futuristic battle suit, and takes down robots using martial arts and a wide assortment of weapons.
The gameplay trailer focuses on Sam. In it, you’ll get a taste for what the story is about, along with bits of the massive battles. Vanquish is set in the not-so-distant future, where the United States and Russia are going head-to-head for ownership over the world’s energy sources that are quickly depleting.

Graphically, Vanquish looks awesome, and from what I can tell based on the three new screenshots, my favorite weapon will be the Laser Cannon.
There are no pre-order deals at this time, but if you love shooters, I suggest you pick up a copy of Vanquish when it launches anyways.
