Seven Seas Entertainment

To kick off the new year, manga publisher Seven Seas Entertainment will be unveiling several new acquisitions this week, beginning with three yesterday and continuing until Friday, with three magical girl series being revealed today.

The first of today’s newly announced titles, is Unmagical Girl, from Ryuichi Yokoyama and Manmaru Kamitsuki. Originally titled The Later Daily Life of the Magic Girl, the series will be released in North America as Unmagical Girl, and follows Pretty Angel Nirvana, a popular magical girl with a TV show watched in every home, until an office worker’s computer goes haywire, and the fictional character finds herself pulled from the screen, into our world. Now, she must adjust to a new life, of grocery shopping and paying bills, instead of saving the world and battling monsters.

Unmagical Girl will be released in North America as single volume editions, with the first available beginning on Sept. 12, 2017, for $12.99 USA / $14.99 CAN.

The second title revealed today, is Magical Girl Special Ops Asuka, a dark and sexy military and magical girl series from Makoto Fukami and Seigo Tokiya. The series takes place in a world where undead creatures once threatened the Earth, and the planet has enjoyed three years of peace after a group of young women rose and defeated them. Now however, the creatures appear to have resurfaced, and it falls to five magical girls, conscripted as the Magical Girl Special-Ops force, to defend mankind.

Released as single volume editions, the first volume of Magical Girl Special Ops Asuka will be available on Nov. 28, 2017, for $12.99 USA / $14.99 CAN.

The final new addition to Seven Seas Entertainment’s catalog revealed today, is Tetsuya Imai’s modern fantasy, Alice & Zouroku. The series follows Sana, a girl who has the ability to ignore the very laws of physics, and a stubborn old man named Zouroku. Sana is one of a group of girls who possess “Alice’s Dream,” an ability that turns their thoughts into reality, which has led to the girls being detained and experimented on. After escaping confinement, Sana finds her way to Zouroku, and his ordered life will never again be the same.

Seven Seas Entertainment will be releasing the first volume of Alice & Zouroku, beginning on July 4, 2017, for $12.99 USA / $14.99 CAN. The series will be released as single volume editions.
