Devil May Cry 5 Announced at E3 2018

Oh my god oh my god oh my god! “Devil May Cry” is back, baby!!! At today’s Xbox Briefing during E3, they announced that the legendary series is reviving! This time, it’s the real deal. No weird “DmC” fake reboot and no punches pulled. This looks like what the series was always meant to be: Over the top violence, smarmy, snarky characters, and a dark, gritty world! The director Hideaki Itsuno is back on this project too! This man was responsible for the other amazing entries in the series and I cannot wait to see what he’s brewing for us this time! The game is set to release next spring!

This is a true sequel to “Devil May Cry 4” and stars three demon hunters. You can play as Nero, a mysterious figure, and everyone’s favorite smart-ass, Dante. It seems that Hell has opened up and spewed legions of demons into our world. Our guys are always open for business, though, so their ready for action after this ten-year gap! To top it off, there’s a mechanic who seems just as bizarre and fun as Dante and Nero. She looks like a great addition to the franchise!

The trailer looks pretty brutal, though. I mean, how did someone rip off Nero’s arm?! That thing was able to block Dante’s sword and smash through buildings, so that must’ve taken some doing. Between that and the undisclosed third playable character, the mystery is driving me up the wall!

Each character will have their own, unique play style. Those of you who played DMC 4 will remember that playing as Nero was quite different from Dante. Dante himself had four distinct styles to choose from, so we can only imagine what this third character will be like.

We will keep our ears to the ground for more information on this beautiful game. As for me, spring couldn’t come soon enough!

An English and Western Laws & Ethics graduate from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Matt’s doing his best to find his way back to Middle Earth or Naboo. However, the closest he can get is reading, writing, or gaming, so he’s trying to accept his lack of pet dragons and devoting himself to those things instead. In his spare time, he practices traditional Chinese Ken-Po in the hopes that he will someday become an Earth Bender.
