On February 19th, Dark Star Game Studios promises to release a grand new update to Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption! This boss battler will be decked out with three new game modes, two more weapons, and a “fowl” new boss. This update is free and will launch simultaneously on Discord, the Switch, PS4, and Xbox One!

Sinner is all about the boss battles. The main character, Adam, must struggle through a series of overwhelming enemies. Each of the seven deadly sins inspired one of the bosses which also represent an aspect of Adam’s past. He must atone through battle in order to gain peace in one of the game’s multiple endings. To make matters worse, however, the player may sacrifice one of Adam’s attributes, such as vitality or stamina, in order to make each fight more perilous, but also more rewarding. Bravo to the player skilled enough to even face the final boss, much less defeat them!

New Game+ threatens to give Dark Souls a run for its money now. Not only will the bosses be harder, players can choose to impose new “Trials” on themselves to vamp up the difficulty.

  • The Trial of Speed grants players enhanced agility at the expense of no longer being invulnerable during dodge rolls!
  • The Trial of Consequence makes death permanent!
  • The Trial of the Sinner combines both of these trials for an over-the-top challenge!

“PC Gamers who have been waiting for Sinner to arrive on Steam won’t be disappointed, as they will receive the most content-packed edition.” —Iain Garner, director of developer relations, Another Indie

In addition to the various new challenges that players can impose upon themselves, Dark Star Game Studios has thrown in yet another horrifying monstrosity to conquer: A giant chicken. A giant ARMORED chicken named Modic, at that!

Monty Python’s Sir Robin is going to have nightmares for weeks after this.

However, as a reward for slaying this appalling piece of poultry, Adam will gain two weapon sets based on other bosses’ arsenals. One is a set of dual swords and the other is a classic sword and shield, all ready to enhance Adam’s lethality.

An English and Western Laws & Ethics graduate from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Matt’s doing his best to find his way back to Middle Earth or Naboo. However, the closest he can get is reading, writing, or gaming, so he’s trying to accept his lack of pet dragons and devoting himself to those things instead. In his spare time, he practices traditional Chinese Ken-Po in the hopes that he will someday become an Earth Bender.
