Neptunia Virtual Stars Locks In Release Date

The CPU Goddess’ are at it again, in their latest adventure. ideaFactory is poised to release another installment of Hyperdimension Neptunia, and have announced a release date for its newest game. Neptunia Virtual Stars is now locked in for release, sending players on a new adventure with their favorite CPU’s, with more action, mayhem, and 4th-wall breaking than their last go-around. Neptune, Noire, Blanc, Vert, and the rest of the gang team up and embark on another fully self-aware adventure.

The news comes from idea Factory via an official press release, accompanied by a batch of new screenshots and a new trailer. The trailer showcases a bevy of chaotic action, with laser, bit-blasting melee combat, and even rhythm-game mechanics. The four Goddesses are scene using an array of weapons, from laser rifles to sniper rifles. The action is fast-paced, showing the characters sliding and skating across the battlefield to avoid enemies. One moment in the Neptunia Virtual Stars shows the Goddess in their CPU forms, displaying devastating attacks upon enemies. The last part of the trailer shows Neptune dancing on a stage, implying there will be rhythm mechanics. Regrettably, due to various complications, Neptunia Virtual Stars will only have Japanese with English subtitles, with no English dubbing planned. It is possible for a patch to be released for English dubbing, but as of now, it is not planned and will not be featured in Neptunia Virtual Stars.

Neptunia Virtual Stars puts players into an entirely new adventure that is paying close attention to today’s gaming industry in the real world. In the dimension of Virtualand, the planet Emote faces extinction. A malevolent group of content destroyers, Antis, have laid siege to the planet, destroying everything in their path. The V-Tubers, the real-life internet stars of streaming sites, have been abducted by Antis as well. With the planet in ruins and her demise imminent, the Goddess of planet Emote, Faira, launches a distress signal to the other dimensions. The distress call reaches Gamesindustri, home of the Four CPU Goddesses. As they respond, they are accompanied by a new ally, the V-Idols. Together, the Goddess of Gamesindustri and the V-Idols gather together to save Emote and defeat Antis.

Neptunia Virtual Stars is shaping to be another exciting installment in the Hyperdimension franchise. The latest installments did do things differently for the franchise. Cyberdimension Neptunia: 4 Goddesses Online put the players, and the characters, within an MMO setting, playing fun with the MMO genre and fiction game worlds, like those found in anime such as Sword Art Online. Super Neptune RPG placed the four heroes in a side-scrolling RPG, with combat and platforming elements. This action-focused approach is reminiscent of Hyperdimension Neptunia U: Action Unleashed and MegaTagmension Blanc + Neptune VS Zombies. While there may not be English dubbing, Hyperdimension Neptunia fans should look forward to Neptunia Virtual Stars for its ambitious approach to online games and emotes.0

Neptunia Virtual Stars launches on PlayStation 4 physically and digitally in North America on March 2nd, 2021 and in Europe on March 5th. The digital release for Steam will launch on March 29th. Excited about the return of The CPU Goddess’? Let us know in the comments section!
