For many, May has been an interesting time for the gaming community. At the end of April, Nintendo released The New Pokemon Snap for Nintendo Switch; this was just the start of a month-long schedule of releases. Since then, Mass Effect Legendary Edition, Resident Evil Village, Biomutant, and Days Gone on PC. With a busy month ahead, both Xbox and PlayStation took a safe route by releasing average free offerings. If you have yet to redeem the May 2021 offerings, you still have time before the June 2021 Games with Gold and PlayStation + offers are released. Now, let’s dive into what the offers are.
In prior months, we have been critical of Sony and Microsoft for giving their paying members lackluster titles. However, with such highly anticipated titles set to release, the seven offers were rather decent. On Xbox, Xbox Live Gold members were able to download and play Armello, Dungeons 3, Lego Batman, and Tropico 4. Armello and Tropico 4 is free until May 31st. Dungeons 3 is free to Gold members until June 15th. On PlayStation, PlayStation Plus members have had access to Battlefield V, Stranded Deep, and Wreckfest. All three of these titles are only available until May 31st.
June 2021 GWG
Starting on June 1st, Xbox Live Gold members and PlayStation Plus members will have a new lineup to look forward to. During June, Xbox Live Gold members will be able to download and play The King’s Bird, Shadows: Awakening, NeoGeo Battle Coliseum, and Injustice: Gods Among Us. Starting on June 1st, Gold members will have access to The King’s Bird and NeoGeo Battle Coliseum. The King’s Bird ($19.99 ERP) will be free from June 1st to 30th. NeoGeo Battle Coliseum ($9.99 ERP) will be available from June 1st to 15th. Then on June 16th, Shadows: Awakening and Injustice: Gods Among Us will become free to gold members. Shadows: Awakening ($29.99 ERP) will be free from June 16th to July 15th. Finally, Injustice: Gods Among Us ($19.99 ERP) will be free from June 16th to 30th.
June 2021 PS+
Starting on June 1st, PlayStation Plus members will be able to download and play Operation: Tango, Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown, and Star Wars: Squadrons. Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown will be free until August 2nd. Meanwhile, Operation: Tango and Star Wars: Squadrons will be free until July 5th.
