ICYMI Silent Hill 2 Joins Dead Space & Resident Evil 4 Remakes

Silent Hill 2 remake

Over the last decade, many gamers have felt that the horror genre of video games has been rather limited. Yes, there has been the occasional horror game that has captured gamers’ attention but arguably none have matched the level of the ones from the 2000s. Within the last five years, Capcom has remade Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3. This has left many to wonder when some of their favorite titles could be. When could we see the return of Dead Space, Silent Hill, System Shock, Manhunt, Bioshock, or F.E.A.R? Now, Silent Hill 2 joins the list of games set to make a return and joins The Callisto Protocol in a year of Horror games.

On Wednesday, October 19th, Konami unveiled a new trailer for Blobber team’s upcoming remake of Silent Hill 2. Earlier this year, images emerged hinting at an upcoming remake, however, Konami would not confirm it was in the works. Silent Hill 2 is the fourth game from the 2000s to have an upcoming remake announced. In 2023, gamers can forward to the release of Resident Evil 4, Dead Space, System Shock, and now Silent Hill 2; at the moment, there has been no official release date for Silent Hill 2 but there is a rumored release date of Friday, October 13th, 2023.

The new trailer does not give away a lot of information but does show the return of Pyramid Head and the killer nurses. Based on the trailer, the upcoming game will follow the same plot with James Sunderland searching for his dead wife in Silent Hill.

The game is set to be a PlayStation 5 exclusive upon launch.

Resident Evil 4 Remake

Not to be outshone, Capcom unveiled new information regarding Resident Evil 8 Village DLC, RE: Versus, and two new Resident Evil 4 trailers. In the trailer, gamers could spot a few differences. Ashley’s infection seems to play a more significant role. Leon’s knife looks to play a more significant role allowing the player to block against attacks rather than having to shoot an enemy and then kick them. Additionally, Leon will now have a dedicated crouch.

Resident Evil 4 is scheduled to be released on March 24th, 2023 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
