Curaga Records will be releasing a new Video Game LoFi: KINGDOM HEARTS Vol. 2 – The Oceans Between. Arranged by artist foreteller throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. During the pandemic, you can say a lot of us need a break from life and just take a moment to breathe, or in this case, find some music that will help us relax. Kingdom Hearts is one of my favorite franchises and it has a special place in my heart, because the music is just breathtaking, and almost feel a ray of sunshine hit you on a rainy day.
The Oceans Between is a deep-dive into many fan-favorite pieces from across the KINGDOM HEARTS franchise, including “Simple and Clean” from the original game and “Cavern of Remembrance” from KINGDOM HEARTS II. The Oceans Between is available today both digitally and via streaming platforms and can be pre-ordered on vinyl, CD, and cassette tape:

The artist foreteller discusses how the project started:
“I started this project in March 2020, at the very beginning of COVID, finding euphoria in daydreaming headcanon scenarios of my favorite KINGDOM HEARTS worlds as getaway locations along a cosmic, supernatural road trip,” reflects arranger foreteller. “It provided a great sense of escape from the loneliness of early pandemic days. I never could’ve imagined, back then, that the creation of this album would blossom into new connections and friendships around the globe. This album is a testament to the way the music of this beautiful series continues to connect so many of us across the vast ‘Ocean Between,’ even when we’re alone. Kick back, close your eyes, and enjoy.”
You know what they say that music is a universal language and it talks to you in mysterious ways, I can say that while writing this article and listening to a few songs from this album on Spotify, I can say it was a perfect combination that went along well with my cup of coffee. I can say that if you were doing your work in a café and while you listening to a few of this music, and you are a person that doesn’t know anything about Kingdom Hearts, you be like this is great cafe music.
If you are a collector of Vinyl Records like myself, this physical packaging art cover looks amazing and I am also tempting to pick up either the vinyl and cassette version.
