OPSEAT Grandmaster Gaming Chair Review

I’m a pretty chubby dude. When I sit in a chair for more than an hour, my butt hurts, I can’t get my legs in a comfortable position, and generally, I start to get cranky. Gaming chairs are a unique thing for me, mostly because I play on consoles. This usually means that, for me, I’m gaming on my couch or in my bed. When we have friends over or when I stream, that’s a different story. That’s when I usually grab a folding chair or a chair from my dining room, always settling for a seat less than ideal so that guests could have the couch; this changed when we were offered a chance to check out one of the latest gaming chairs from OPSEAT.

OPSEAT Gaming Chairs have been around since 2015, but it’s co-founders have deep roots in gaming and have been gaming since their youth. Realizing there was a need for ergonomic gaming chairs, the two started to manufacture and distribute them. Their chairs have since been picked up by several esports teams and many influencers, content creators, and Twitch streamers.

About a month ago, our PR specialist and Sr Editor Andrew asked if I could review a gaming chair and of course, I agreed. After everything was said and done and shipping arrangements were made a MASSIVE box appeared on my doorstep, taking only about four business days. It’s contents: an OPSEAT Grandmaster Gaming Chair.

OPSEAT Gaming Chairs currently come in two varieties, Master ($249.99) and Grandmaster ($299.99) with the difference being in the width and style of the seat. I often like to sit with my legs crossed when I game, so I opted for the Grandmaster option.

The box came with everything neatly packaged and ready to be put together. There was a single sheet of instructions on how to build the chair and the task was incredibly simple. All together from start to finish it took me less than an hour to put the whole thing together. I even documented the whole process on Twitch.

The instructions are basic so at times it can be a little unclear of what goes where, but with a little logic, it can easily be figured out. The one thing I will say is that I wish it came with instructions on how to change the wheel accent tips. I had to figure it out myself and lost a screw. It’s not an important screw, but I was bummed.

Since putting the chair together about a week ago, I’ve spent about 20 plus hours so far. I streamed some Twitch Sings (don’t watch it, it’s awful) and sat in the chair for over two hours. I had a game night with friends and sat in it for about another three. My friends have all sat in it and my wife and two-year-old son also have sat in it. Everyone who has sat in the chair have agreed that is comfy. Not just comfy, but REALLY COMFY. The foam padding in the seat is firm, but not firm enough that it’s stiff, just enough so that one doesn’t just sink into it.

It feels like it’s meant to sink in gradually during long gaming sessions. The seat also comes with two ergonomic pillows to help with back and neck support. I could feel quite a difference when using the pillows vs when they were absent.

The accent stitching on the seat is incredible, the frame is sturdy and the build quality is just top-notch. The solid metal frame doesn’t take away from the comfort of the padded foam. I have not spent a lot of time in other gaming chairs so I can’t tell you how it compares to other brands, but I can tell you that if you’re a dedicated streamer and you still haven’t picked up a gaming chair, OPSEAT has been an incredible seat so far. It’s even made me want to stream more so that I have more reasons to sit in it.
