Seven Pirates H (Switch) Review

It’s been a hot and steamy summer in games, and among them has been EastAsiaSoft, leading the way in bringing new, interesting and ambitious indie and Japanese games tot he forefront of gaming audiences today, from Synergia to Sense: A Cyberpunk Ghost Story, to the ambitious Chinese RPG Sword and Fairy: Together Forever. Summer has been hot for more than one reason though, and that is the release of Seven Pirates H, a new release from EastAsiaSoft and Idea Factory. For the first time, the game makes its way tot he west, uncensored and content-complete, sailing its way exclusively to the Nintendo Switch. Seven Pirates H isn’t going to be for every sailor, especially in what can be described as a new golden-age of JRPGS. With several gorgeous pirates to look at, solid gameplay, and a grand adventure, Seven Pirates H is neither the sharpest nor most innovative JRPG experience but it is the most endowed, making for bouncy and colorful result.

It’s a grand adventure out there, and for Parute one of the characters, the seas are ripe for adventure. in her findings, she comes across several more pirates, including a Kraken, a jellyfish, and even a demon. These buxom femme fatales rock the seas with curves rounder than the mounds of the beach. Its a world all about sun, skin, and in case if hasn’t hit you yet, boob focused sex appeal. The seven pirates embark on a grand quest to discover the world, fight monsters, and find treasures.

Seven Pirates H was originally released in 2016, and was part of a long lineage of games that focused squarely on one game mechanic. Boobs. In the same lineage as Omega Labyrinth Z, the primary goal is utilize the power of the breast to complete quest on the adventure. It’s as wild, lewd, and outrageous as it sounds, but no other JRPG does it quite like Seven Pirates H.

Seven Pirates H is your traditional turn-based JRPG. Players explore islands, fight monsters, discover items, and fight bosses. Each island holds their own type of enemies and quest. To assist players on their journey are the boobykin, which display tasks that need to be done and the requirements to do so. The tasks involve the typical errands, such as gathering resources and defeating enemies. Players embark on a large vessel onto an overworld, visiting islands and activating events that lend themselves to the story. Oftentimes the events play out like a visual novel. The language is in Japanese with English subtitles, and the text speed can be adjusted to the desire of the player. When embarking on an island, players run around the environment to discover treasure and engage enemies. Much like the well-endowed protagonists, the enemies certainly have a highly suggestive appearance. These enemies aren’t necessarily the hardest, unless players want them to, but their designs are amusing, lending themselves to be absurdity of the game. Turn-based combat is the traditional affair, with attack and defense. The exception is that a member of your party can become aroused. After a small scene, arousal means that a special attack can be launched, with the attack being character specific. The further along players get into be game, the better the attacks will present themselves, including one with a minigame to complete. Players can acquire new gear and weapons as well. One nice addition is the ability to set each battle into autopilot, seeing the game play itself but utilizing what you have equipped. Playing directly is fun but this was nice for clearing out smaller enemies in rapid succession. This is most especially useful for farming items. idea Factory put their signature visual flair here, as the prates attack enemies with absurd weapons form giant forks to slime-based weapons. Overall, the combat is solid and entertaining, even if the only remarkable aspect are e the obscene camera angles of the girls initiating their attacks.

Centering the combat and gameplay is what the franchise is best known for: Boob Training. Early in the game, players acquire an item, Booby Training. When use, players are taken to a screen of the party member, wearing a swim suit. Using either the joy-con analog sticks, or the touch screen, players can fondle with the boobs of the characters. Depending on the movement, players can make the characters boobs bigger or smaller, as well as flatter or more perky. Boob Training is the main focus , allowing players the ability to customize the tactics they wish to use in battle. Bigger boobs means a slower but strong character. Smaller boobs means a quicker character, but with weaker attacks. Players have the have the capacity to tailor the cup size to how they wish, but keep in mind, the maximum size in cup size is I cup.

From here, Seven Pirates H is a case of rinse and repeat. Complete boobykin quests, go to an events, search island, train the boobs, complete requests, fight a boss from time to time. It’s not the most complex or sophisticated JRPG. Some may argue it’s primitive and far too simple. It is clear that the fan service and lewd content came first to the rest of the gaming experience. This may not sound that spectacular, but where Seven Pirates H greatly succeeds is in its sexual humor, and how distinct it is.

Seven Pirates H is a tale of several sexy pirates, all just searching the seas for treasure. There isn’t any larger over arching story of evil and good, or any kind of smart scripting to the tale. This is a horny story of boobs, water, and swashbuckling, and all the weirdness that will ensure. There is discussion on boobs and boobs sizes, lewdness, and intimacy. There’s a pervy monster that assists the group there are other buxom enemies tonight. It’s weird, it’s strange, and there’s a chance that some might find it offensive, but it’s also delightfully absurd in it’s undertaking. Most JRPGs and RPGs deal with familiar setups, from fantasy to sci-fi, with various tones depending on the game. For Seven Pirates H it’s just about silly, ridiculous, non-sensical fun, especially with how big the boobs can get and the ways of how they can be used in combat. In a way, Seven Pirates H fulfills the mission of a video game and that is to be entertaining and fun. Seven Pirates H made me laugh quite a bit, despite of strange and awkward the game can get. It embraces it’s lunacy and fan-service to extreme degrees to the point I found myself laughing at the general silliness. To that end 7 Pirates H succeeds in being entertaining and memorably in it’s lunacy. This is further complimented by a colorful ocean environment, which does create an overall vibrant appearance, even if the Seven Pirates H is originally from 2016. The content Seven Pirates H will not be for everyone, and some maybe back away altogether, but gaming is an art form, and it’s free to express whatever it wants. There are people who enjoy games like Seven Pirates H and they should be able too.

Having said that, outside of mechanics, Seven Pirates H is a tried and true JRPG. Seven Pirates H does get repetitive after awhile, making shorter sessions preferred for players. The story is simple as well, even with the humor, its the typical length, but this version of Seven Pirates H does come bundled with extra content, putting many more hours to eh experience out for players. There isn’t much difference evaluation to the gameplay as Seven Pirates H goes on, but it still is compliment as the game is quick and easy to play. Of course, due to the sexual nature of this game, it is advised to be careful when playing Seven Pirates H in public places in handheld.

Seven Pirates H is very much a gentleman’s game, and that may likely turn off some players, especially given the current climate. However, those that are open to accept artistic expression and the general silliness of games do have a solid JRPG here, filled with many characters, dozens of hours of combat, grand boss fights, and the overall celebration of boobs and sexual attraction Seven Pirates H is is a fiery good JRPG, that lets you relax and have a good time.
