Ghost Tappers Review

For sometime Erin and I have played a lot of mobile games. However, one game that we’ve put a bit of time with is Diviad Gmbh’s latest game Ghost Tappers. Some of you reading our review may know the games they’ve created called Ghost Trappers as well as Chronicles of Blood. Ghost Tappers happens to be the companies first mobile game, which is a nice start. During PAX East 2018, both Erin and I got the chance to check out the game. While I was often busy she spent more time checking it out on the show floor. Very much so that we gave it an award of Writers Choice during the show.

As we fast forward since PAX East 2018 this year, I’ve put in a good bit of time with the game. While the game itself is very simple, it’s something that anyone will be able to pick up in no time. What is Ghost Tappers? Ghost Tappers is a game where you are the newest agent of S.C.O.T.C.H. The task being: Being able to explore the world and trap ghosts as you tap away in-game to upgrade everything you can to progress.. You’ll have many items, agents and even loyal companions to pick from. Ghost Tappers as like with many idle tapping games provides some entertaining time even if you’re just wanting to pass the time. Those of you that know your tapping/clicking games as you progress you’ll get the chance to unlock more agents for you next turn of playing or simply see how far you can get in-game.

With many games like this you’ll be able to prestige after level 100. This will offer the player with a means to unlock more companions on top of getting father into the game itself. The main goal to the game is to tap the screen to in turn earn gold to upgrade your agents in-game. Even then you can unlock companions to use such as cats, dragons and other animals. These companions each have abilities that open up and can be upgraded. I happen to use the Charity Dragon, which grants extra gold as well as a boost in damage and a set amount of time of auto-tapping depending on how much I’ve upgraded my companions. The game has so many that is possible to unlock. On top of this there are tons of ghosts in-game to tap away and trap. One cool feature in-game is being able to take photos of these ghost, which grant VIP points. I’ve yet to get to VIP level 4 and I was informed you can get to this rank without buying anything with real world money if you take pictures of all the ghosts and creatures in-game.

When it comes to controlling the game itself, the game doesn’t offer anything crazy for you to learn. As you can see in the screen shot above, it’s as easy as tapping the screen, using the abilities you buy with your in-game gold. While some of the game does focus on buying gems if you want or even in-game companions with real world money you don’t have too because of the in-game achievement system. Which provides you means of unlocking avatars, opening boxes or giving yourself a boost in gold. I will state this game is not a play to win style game, but will require you to work hard to progress to high levels. You can get to higher ranks in the VIP area of the without spending a dime. Though I enjoy supporting developers so I will state I have purchased a companion or two with real world money and the items you get granted after prestige or obtaining by normal play.

Overall, Ghost Tappers is a nice game to play when you’re looking for something to pass time. I do like being able to spend all my gold in-game that I’ve earned and being able to stop playing for a while to let the game play itself. For the foreseeable future both Erin and I will be playing this game. You can check out Ghost Tappers on Android and iOS and there will be future events happening in-game, which is another plus to mobile games such as this.
