Destiny 2 has been out for a couple days now and while Guardians around the world are working together to take down Dominus Ghaul and the Red Legion, Bungie has been busy planning what’s next and has recently released a month-in-advance overview of what us Guardians can look forward to in the coming days and weeks.
Arguably, the most exciting news from this post is the fact that the Leviathan Raid will launch next Wednesday, September 13th. Six Guardians will be able to tackle some of Destiny’s best and hardest content when the Raid launches and should provide some of the best loot for those who are up to the challenge. On Tuesday, September 26th, the Leviathan Raid Guided Games Beta will begin and will test the new quasi-matchmaking feature of Destiny 2 that will help Guardians find a team to accomplish the Raid.
In addition, everyone’s favorite exotic’s dealer, Xur, will return on Friday, September 15th, and should resume his normal schedule of showing up each Friday with new gear to help you become Legend. The Trials of the Nine also arrive on that Friday, which will replace the Trials of Osiris from the original Destiny, and hopefully, in addition to allowing players to earn rare gear, will also shed some light on Xur, who happens to be an agent of the Nine.
On Tuesday, September 26th, Faction Rally begins and while not much information was given, the image shows the familiar logos of Future War Cult, Dead Orbit, and New Monarchy, which could hint at some battles are ahead to determine the “best” faction and earning the victors even more unique rewards.
Lastly, the image reveals the Nightfalls and Flashpoints and the developers tease that new challenges will arrive in October, including Iron Banner and certain ways to have your prestige tested in the upcoming Leviathan Raid.
As long-time Destiny fans know, the launch is only the beginning. With expansions, updates, clans, and more on the horizon, Destiny 2 should keep Guardians busy for a very, very long time.
What are you most looking forward to? Have you jumped in to Destiny 2 yet? Let us know your thoughts!
