DC Universe Online, an MMO slated for a November 2010 release on PC and PS3, is shaping up to be pretty amazing. Boasting an impressive amount of well-known DC heroes and villains, fans of the game will be excited from the recent trailer released at San Diego Comic-Con.
The trailer doesn’t include any actual gameplay footage, but with it clocking in a little over 6 minutes, plenty of story and build-up to the actual game itself is there. I will admit, I’ve never been a huge DC fan. The characters of the Marvel universe always appealed to me more, but I’d be a liar if I didn’t say that this trailer blew me away.
Even though I have limited knowledge of the DC universe, I was able to spot characters like Wonder Woman, Flash, Black Adam, Green Lantern, Batman, Cyborg, Superman, Lex Luthor, Deathstroke, The Joker, and Harley Quinn. There were a couple I wasn’t too sure of, but by the powers of ‘Google Magic’, I think Circe and Giganta were in there as well. The only thing I didn’t care for was the Batman costume used during the beginning of the trailer, mainly because I prefer the traditional one I’ve become familiar with, but it wasn’t a deal breaker or anything. Regardless, fans and non-fans of DC are sure to get goosebumps off of this.
If you’re chomping at the bit for this game, I don’t blame you. Sign-ups for the beta are underway, and while I’m not a huge fan of MMO’s, nor am I a big PC gamer, I couldn’t help but sign myself up for this.
