As I mentioned before when doing the article about my top 10 favorite Deftones tracks, I adore The Smiths. From the smooth, angelic voice of Morrissey, to the guitar riffs of Johnny Marr. Formed in 1982 (the same year I was born in), The Smiths are legendary. Many bands cite them as being major influences, and it’s not difficult to understand why. Unfortunately they are mostly known for their popular, and in my opinion over-played track “How Soon is Now?”, which is sad because The Smiths are far better than what that song has to offer.
Some personal faves are Panic, Bigmouth Strikes Again, There is a Light that Never Goes Out, Stop Me If You Think You’ve Heard This One Before, Shoplifters of the World Unite, This Charming Man, and so many more.
Like all good things, The Smiths had to come to an end, but at least Morrissey is still around releasing good music that take us back to the good ol’ days.
