Probably the most bizarre news I’ve heard in the past 24h has to be the now-confirmed rumour that a MW2 glitch unlocks 5 XBLA games, published by SNK Playmore. Unfortunately for SNK, all you need to take advantage of this glitch is a copy of MW2, one of the top selling games of 2009!
How do I exploit the gaming industry you ask? Well, if you run the Call of Duty: MW2 disc, it fools the console into thinking you have actually unlocked the full games. The games affected are: Metal Slug 3, Metal Slug XX, Garou: Mark of the Wolves, The King of Fighter ’98 Ultimate Match and Samurai Shodown II.
Now, I know it sounds simple. But you actually cannot launch the games from the Xbox dashboard to obtain free access. The games need to be launched from within the MW2 game, and only after you already download the trial games.
I’m sure there are rooms full of people tirelessly trying to fix this issue, but in the meantime, please try to refrain from abusing the glitch! Download the trial versions of these great games, and if you like them, purchase full copies for a mere 800-1200 MS points. Support the game industry, folks!
