After the mind warp that Inception was, you’re probably wondering when the next one will wander onto the silverscreen. The answer, 2011. The film, Sucker Punch.
The film revolves around a girl called Babyface, played by Emily Browning (A Series of Unfortunate Events), who has been sent to the Lennox House for the Mentally Insane and is scheduled for a lobotomy. The film follows Babyface as she attempts to escape the terrors of her life by creating a world of her own. After being admitted, she is joined by four other girls played by Jamie Chung (Dragon Ball), Jena Malone (The Soloist), Abbie Cornish (Bright Star), and Vanessa Hudgens (High School Musical). Together, the girls “enter” Babyface’s world and try to find a way to escape from their fates in the Institute.
Very little news about the film has been released, other than what has been in the trailers, but it definitely looks intense. It also looks like it could have been a final fantasy game. Five beautiful girls with machine guns fighting mythical creatures like dragons. Somebody is going to get a bloody nose over this film.
Don’t like the sound of it so far? What if I told you it was directed and written by Zack Snyder? For those of you who don’t know who that is, he directed 300 and Watchmen. A guarantee of insanely intense action.
All in all, this film has something for everyone. Girls, guns, a european war, airplane fire fights, dragons, samurai, and a giant mecha with a pink bunny painted on the front. What more could you want?
Sound cool? Be sure to check it out when it hits theaters March 25, 2011.
