I’m a huge fan of DLC, as I may have mentioned in the announcements for Crackdown 2, BioShock 2 and Red Dead Redemption! Now, one of my favorite games are getting some downloadable content – Transformers: War for Cybertron!
Transformers is getting a map and character pack today that will include five new maps and two new playable characters. The two new playable characters will be Dead End and Zeta Prime. Players will have access to the new characters in the co-op escalation mode as well as create a custom character based off these new characters.
There will be two new Escalation mode maps – Pulse and Static. Pulse is an Autobot location where players will have to journey inside the corridors of the Decepticon’s Trypticon to overload its central power core. Static is a multi-level Decepticon location full of traps!
The other three maps are competitive multiplayer maps called Horizon, Sector and Metropolis. According to ActiVision, “Horizon is a picturesque statuary overlooking the war-torn AUTOBOT home city of Iacon, complete with wide open courtyards and tight spaces for close quarters combat.” While Sector is a less picturesque old maintenance facility which is very open, allowing for easy vehicle movement, dive-bombing jets, and long range weapons. Metropolis will have players dropped into a high-rise Iacon city building that has been previously bombed. You will have to navigate through the ruins to master this map.
If all these new additions seem exciting to you, check them on the Xbox Live Marketplace for 800 Microsoft Points, or catch it on the PlayStation 3 Network for a low price of $9.99.
