The fourth of the BBC’s Doctor Who games, published by Sumo Entertainment, is going to be available just in time to slide it into your virtual stocking.
Entitled “Shadows of the Vashta Nerada,” the game picks up right after the last game, a move which makes sense seeing as its a sequel and all. It has The Doctor and Amy materializing just south of London in a little sea bed colony called Poseidon. Of course it takes place at Christmas as well. By the way, it is the first game to feature Steven Mofatt’s original monsters since their debut in Silence in the Library and Forest of the Dead.
“We’ve gone all-out for the season finale,” says Steven Moffat, executive producer of Doctor Who. “Shadows of the Vashta Nerada takes place entirely underwater – something which would be impossible for the TV series, as water is so expensive. It’s thrilling, terrifying, educational and fun. Just steer clear of those shadows…” Look man, whatever. Just as long as there are no angels. I’ve seen only a few episodes of Doctor Who, and really… no angels. Please.
The game will be available on Christmas day right after the release of the Doctor Who Christmas Special on the BBC 1 and BBC HD for free on the BBC’s Doctor Who website on the PC and Mac.
