It’s Call of Juarez, but in the present. So, maybe they should call it Call of Juarez: Modern Gunfighter?
Today, Ubisoft announced the third Call of Juarez game, The Cartel, to be released for the PC and next gen consoles in the summer of 2011. So far not much is known beyond the fact that it is a modern day first person shooter that takes place in Los Angeles and the titular town of Juarez, Mexico.
“Call of Juarez: The Cartel is an action-packed shooter game with a strong story, interesting characters and a wide variety of gameplay options,” said Adam Novickas, director of marketing at Ubisoft. “The game will bring the best elements of the Wild West into modern times with a very gritty and relevant plot.”
