A PC demo of the anticpated game will be released March 1. The demo will be available on the game’s website.
The demo will include 2 maps, 2 modes of play and the popular Nanosuit that is an integral part of the game.
The multiplayer gameplay will be six vs. six competitions centered around war-torn Manhattan. Both maps will take place in the city, and have very different personalities. The map “Skyline,” is set on top and inside the city’s famous skyscrapers, and will most likely involve claustrophobic gameplay. The other map included in the demo, “Pier 17,” will take place in an open environment, with limited cover.
The two gameplay modes will be “Team Instant Action,” the standard team deathmatch scenario and “Crash Site” where teams will fight over alien drop pods, earning points for securing the pods and defending them against each other.
The full Crysis 2 experience will be available on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 on March 22 in North America. Europe will have to wait until March 25 to play the game. Crysis 2’s multiplayer will include 6 gameplay modes and 12 maps set in New York City.
The Crysis 2 announcements don’t just stop there. Interested gamers who pre-order the game today will receive an upgrade to the limited edition of the game, available while supplies last. This edition includes four in game multiplayer perks. These include:
- Bonus XP for the player at the beginning of multiplayer battles, giving them a decided edge in the fray.
- A SCAR hologram decoy that creates a decoy to confuse opponents and a SCAR weapon skin to allow players to add a personal touch to the game.
- A Platinum Dog Tag, a one of a kind dog tag. It is one of about 250 that will be collectible in the multiplayer experience. It will distinguish you from your opponents.
After a gamer plays the demo, Crysis invites them to discuss it with other players and provide feedback to the Crysis team at the “My Crysis” website.
