This one’s a couple of days late, but I blame technology, the harsh, cruel mistress that deals us all a slap on the face at one point or another. Due to unavoidable circumstances, we were unable to record on Sunday for a Monday release. We did record Monday evening, but technology (the aforementioned harsh, cruel mistress) decided to lose our recording file. Today, we attempted to recreate our conversation (with varying levels of success) in order to provide you with our weekly gab. Unfortunately, this can only be considered a tribute to last night’s episode, which was the absolute best podcast episode anyone has ever recorded in the history of podcasting. PROVE THAT IT WASN’T! YOU CAN’T. Anyway, this brings us to yet another episode of Marooners’ Talk. Episode 17, titled “Scandal and Success on the Internet (The Tribute),” is…special.
Our main points were Microsoft’s trustworthiness when it comes to the Kinect, Doublefine’s whirlwind success with Kickstarter and what it means for the standard publisher model, the furor over Jennifer Hepler and her qualifications for writing video games, and Kingdoms of Amalur. Our REAL main points, however, which accounted for well over 20 minutes of the episode, were the new My Little Pony series, bronies, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Power Ranges.
Fair warning.
As always, you can listen instantly below or subscribe on iTunes or Zune and listen on the go! So, you know, do that. Or not. Whatever. Jerk.
