This Memorial Day weekend, Spike TV will be airing all three Star Wars movies, along with the other three movies that bear the title of Star Wars, but are not, in fact, Star Wars. The festivities begin tonight at 8pm ET/PT, just days before Spike’s exclusive unveiling of the newest Star Wars game franchise, which is currently scheduled to make its grand debut at this year’s E3. The unveiling will take place on Thursday, May 31, on Spike’s GTTV show. It will be followed by a gameplay premier of the new entry during E3 All Access Live, a primetime special scheduled for June 4th at 10pm ET and 7PM PT.
This is it, folks. This is the one we’ve been waiting for. It’s finally time for Star Wars: Ewoks vs. Stormtroopers.
I’m a Jedi/Republic guy all the way, but I hope the ‘troopers win.
Obviously it won’t be the long-awaited Battlefront 3, since this is to be a “new” franchise, but at least it won’t be Star Wars Kinect 2, Lego Star Wars 8, etc., either! We have nothing to really point us one way or the other when it comes to what this new franchise or title will really be, other than this vote of confidence from Geoff Keighley, host of the E3 All Access Live special:
I am blown away by both the caliber of the team on this project and their bold vision for this new ‘Star Wars’ title. I can’t wait to introduce our viewers to this game and show off the footage that left my jaw on the floor when I first saw it.
Well, we’ll see more in a little less than a week. Hopefully it’s worth the wait.
