Have you been playing The Witcher 2? I’m a proud owner of the title, but I haven’t gotten into modding it. CD Projekt RED hit Gamescom this year with some great news and with some awesome accolades. Aside from dominating the European Games Awards, they presented REDkit, the new mod engine for their award-winning RPG. What does REDkit do, and how do you get it? REDkit gives players the power to create detailed environments and complex, nonlinear quests as they tell their own Witcher story. That’s pretty cool, and starting today, modders from all over the world can apply for early access here. Registration ends September 30, 2012.
Head of CD Projekt RED, Adam Badowski, had this to say:
We have our own vision for RPGs: they should present an exciting story and give players lots of choices that really matter. The REDkit is designed to create adventures that way – mature, non-linear and engrossing stories set in vivid worlds filled with believable characters.
