As I’ve said before, there are a lot of smartphones on the market and there are a lot of similarities and differences across these devices. The latest phone I’ve been using has been the Droid Incredibly 4G LTE from Verizon Wireless. It was an interesting device, but didn’t really do anything to stand out and pull me in like some others have done in the past. Most smartphones today offer a lot, but usually at a cost; maybe the battery life, screen size, or size of the phone itself. What makes the Droid Incredibly good or bad? Let’s find out.
The Droid Incredibly features a 4-inch LCD display, 8MP rear-facing camera with LED flash, and a front camera for video chat or pictures. It’s powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor with 4G LTE. The Droid Incredible has a smaller screen than some of its competitors, but runs a bit faster and doesn’t take up standby battery life as quickly. The audio is very crisp, whether it’s on a conversation, listening to music, or application/game sounds. As for the picture and video quality for recording and playback, it’s quite good. On the down side, the on-screen keyboard is quite small, and if you don’t manage your applications or time, you will drain the battery quickly. This is a common experience, but it seemed a bit faster with the Droid Incredible. If you’re looking for an Android gaming device, the active use battery life may be a problem for you.
At least the phone looks great!
Overall I’d say it’s a decent phone. I wouldn’t purchase it myself, but that’s because the last phone I reviewed really caught my eye. The Droid Incredible has its positive points, however. It easily fits into most pockets while retaining a nice sized screen. It loads applications and games quickly, and can be used for casual or business purposes. The downsides are the small on-screen keyboard, which resulted in reduced typing accuracy, the reduced active battery life, and the slightly high price for what you end up getting. Is it worth it? If you need a phone immediately, and you can get this on a contract price, then it’s not the worst choice, and as I said, it is a decent phone.
