Earlier this year, Nintendo released another iteration of the 3DS handheld game console. Roll your eyes and say what you will, but the “New 3DS XL” was a significant improvement on the previous version of the hardware. The 3D feature was much improved, and a second analog control was added.
In territories outside of the US, a version of the console launched with the sole distinction of being significantly smaller and offering interchangeable faceplates. Initially, this console was not available in North America and fanboys far and wide took it upon themselves to express their rage on social media because they wanted the tinier system because it would fit better in the pockets of their skinny jeans. Today, it was announced that these people will have to find something new to complain about.
On September 25th, a bundle containing the smaller New 3DS, two faceplates, Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer, and one Amiibo card will launch at the recommended price of $219.99. Also launching on this same day is a special edition of the New 3DS XL feautiring the Hylian Crest, just in time for the release of Triforce Heroes.
