Are you ready to put on your speculation armor with your possibility helmet? Good. This time, we’re popping into Fallout 4. Modder xxdeathknight72xx (why the x’s?) dove into the files of my game of the year, and found something interesting: A weapon.
You can check the mod out for yourself here.
Yeah. That’s a harpoon gun. No there isn’t one in the actual game. So what does this mean? Good thing we put on our suits and helmets, because we’re going to think about this one. It is entirely possible that this gun was removed from the game during development. But, if it was added to help lower the size of the first expansion, oh boy am I excited.
With the harpoon gun, when you use it, bubbles appear during its reload. Yeah. Bubbles. Do you know what causes bubbles? Water. It is entirely possible that our first expansion will take place under water, possibly in the ocean. This wouldn’t be too farfetched with power armor that has a respirator. Time will tell if this is just a scrapped weapon, or a slight hint as to what is to come.
The neat thing to point out: this weapon has special animations tied to it, meaning it was extremely fleshed out when put into the code, not like a typical scrapped idea. This animation is that decapitated heads will fly with the arrow, and be skewered onto walls, spinning humorously. Use your own suits and helmets to decide what you think.
