Did you buy Gears of War Ultimate Edition? Maybe you just played it with a friend? Good news, free stuff is on its way.
Back in August we found out that if you play Gears Ultimate Edition, you will receive Gears 1,2,3 and Judgment free through the backwards compatibility program when it launches in November. Well, it is November now, the New Xbox Experience is out, backwards compatibility is live, and we now know how we will get the games.
If you played Gears of War Ultimate Edition between August 25th and December 31st of this year, you will be receiving codes to redeem your games soon. These codes will be sent out via the in-dash message system on the One starting December 1st.
As a Gears 1 fan, and never having the opportunity to play through the others, I am excited to try them out now that these codes will be sent out. What about you guys? Do you like the precedent of “Buy this game and get X free through Backwards Compatibility”? Let us know below!
