As announced by Capcom back in September, we’re expecting a Resident Evil themed game called Umbrella Corps, and now we get another sneak peak into what this third-person shooter will look like!
If you’re familiar with the Resident Evil franchise – and who isn’t – then you’re aware Umbrella Corporation is a ruthless pharmaceutical company known for its biological weapons and experimentation, leading to the “zombie” pandemic that hit Raccoon City. In Umbrella Corps, you will be tasked with a unique goal specific to the game mode, such as defeating the enemy team without the ability to respawn (One Life Match mode). The matches are designed to be as brutal as possible to ensure quick and engaging game play in these high-intensity team-based matches.
Of course, Umbrella Corps wouldn’t just throw you in without anything to defend yourself! You’ll be able to wrap your hands around the grips of guns and throws some grenades to help keep yourself alive. To go along with the standard weaponry, you’ll be able to use some bad-ass weapons that will remind you you’re playing a Resident Evil inspired game. Such options include: the Brainer (a powerful melee axe which goes straight into the skull), Tactical Shield (an arm-mounted guard allowing players to utilize a zombie as cover), Terrain Spikes (boot-mounted spikes for trampling the enemy), and Zombie Jammer (a device which repels zombies only when active).
Umbrella Corps is expected to be released on PlayStation 4 and PC across North America and Europe in early 2016 for about $30.
