Hunter X Hunter has reached that point of popularity both in the manga and the anime that an English dub was inevitable. Toonami is adding the show to their lineup this Saturday (April 16th) at 1am EST time. Of course those familiar with the show probably already are aware of this transition, but it’s awesome to see the series reaching a new audience on Toonami. Erica Mendez will be playing the voice role of main character Gon. Other vocal talent includes Cristina Vee as Killua, Matthew Mercer as Leorio, Keith Silverstein as Hisoka and Erika Harlacher as Kurapika.
What is Hunter X Hunter? Well this will answer your question! In the original HUNTER X HUNTER manga series, which is also published in print and digitally by VIZ Media (rated ‘T’ for Teens), Hunters are a special breed, dedicated to tracking down treasures, magical beasts, and even other people. But such pursuits require a license, and less than one in a hundred thousand can pass the grueling qualification exam. Those who do pass gain access to restricted areas, amazing stores of information, and the right to call themselves Hunters.
