Last night at Bethesda’s E3 press release, there were a lot of things shown off. Probably the most anticipated (mostly due to the teasing of a leak) was the announcement of a Skyrim remaster. Yes, the leak was true. We are heading back into Skyrim.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was one of my favorite games last generation. I sat down and played it the whole weekend after it came out. Oops. College is for nerds anyways. I was enraptured by the beauty of the game. Now, the beauty just got a lot more….beautiful. Skyrim Special Edition will be released for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC (PC will get a free upgrade if they own all previous content) later this year. All add-ons will be included (hope you are ready to build a house and steal….I mean adopt a child) plus remastered art and effects, including Volumetric god rays, dynamic depth of field, screen-space reflections and many more.
Probably the most exciting part of this upgraded version is that, following in Fallout 4’s footsteps, we will be getting console mods! And the crowd was enthused! The mods will be accessible from the main menu. In the menu, you will be able to search, rate and download mods directly to your game to play. Also, if you want, you can download the mods from bethesda.net.
Get Skyrim Special Edition October 28th, 2016 and dive back into the word of Skyrim! I honestly may just sit in the wilderness and just listen to the soundtrack for a while. It is so beautiful. As of right now, this is all the information that is know, so if anything else comes up, we will keep you updated! Closing, I hope you all are proud of me, I made it through an entire Skyrim article and didn’t make an Arrow in the knee joke.
Skyrim Special Edition starts roughly at 3:15 in the video below.
