Every month since October, Harmonix has been releasing a new update to add to the quality and longevity of their title, Rock Band 4. This month’s update will be the last for a few months, allowing them to focus on the upcoming expansion this fall (ooo mystery, mystery) with weekly DLC still continuing. I have to say, their last update before the intermission is a fan requested one that has been begged for for months.
Practice makes perfect. Any musician can say that. Unfortunately, when Rock Band 4 was coming out, it had to be put on the backburner. This month, that changes. Practice mode is coming back with a vengeance. No hoopla, no beautiful distractions, just perfection. When the game updates, you will notice a Practice tab. Here, you can practice to your heart’s content. I know I am extremely welcoming of this since there are a few licks that still trip me up full speed. Not only are we getting the update, but the monthly DLC announcement.
Since Harmonix is continuing the two songs a week model, what better way to make fans excited than having DLC during update week! That’s right, 8 new songs (as opposed to 9) will be released this month, with four making their debut performance. This week’s DLC is:
- Blues Traveler – “Hook”
- My Chemical Romance – “Famous Last Words”
Alright, you have my attention Harmonix. What else can we expect? Hold onto your butts.
- Goo Goo Dolls
- Imagine Dragons
- The Killers
- MAGIC!
- Three Days Grace
- Toto
Whoa. Whoa. Whoa. 90’s overload with some current. I can dig it. So what are we getting this month? If I had to guess it would be:
- Iris
- Radioactive
- Runaways
- Rude
- Home
- Africa
Respectively. What do you all think? Are the DLC selections getting better? Or are you ready to sing your final encore?
