So it turns out the “rumor” that I warned everyone about for the upcoming month of Games with Gold wasn’t partially incorrect. It was completely and totally wrong. Not a single game was similar, but that isn’t a bad thing, per se. Starting today, we get two new games, with two more on the way, but what are they?
Until the 15th of June, we will still have Costume Quest Two. For the first half of June, the two new titles will be Goat Simulator for the Xbox One and Super Meat Boy for the Xbox 360/Backwards Compatibility. Goat Simulator puts you in the hooves of a “friendly” goat in a city and your goal is to cause mayhem, and complete ridiculous achievements. Super Meat Boy is a platformer that is ridiculously difficult. With twitch reflex platforming celebrated, this is a game that will take forever to complete, and may make you break a controller or two. These titles total to about $25.
In the second half of the month, we get the MMO style racing title The Crew for Xbox One and strategic turn based alien action title, XCOM Enemy Unknown for Xbox 360/BC. In The Crew, race across the open-world recreation of the United States and complete challenges along the way. In XCOM Enemy Unknown, step into the shoes of the commander for XCOM, a tactical team created to combat an extraterrestrial attack. These titles total to almost $70, bringing the total for the month to $95. Wow.
Let us know what you think about the four free titles, and we may even try to do a site ride-along when The Crew comes out for free!
