The popularity of South Park: The Stick Of Truth is undeniable. The surprisingly deep RPG was a hit, and it was a given that we’d get a sequel. Now that South Park: The Fractured But Whole is approaching, publisher Ubisoft has announced a unique addition to the game that will sounds absolutely smell-tastic.
Thanks to the “Nosulus Rift,” players will be able to immerse themselves in the game far beyond something pedestrian like VR. Now, you can SMELL the game. At least you can when you fart (in game). Yes. You read that right. You can smell farts.
The Nosulus Rift is only available during conventions and won’t be for sale, but it is certainly something to look for at Gamescom this week, and at PAX West in September. The Nosulus Rift was developed by Productman with the assistance of various experts, including French perfume specialist Isabelle Ferrand. The device is a fully functional mask that will trigger when farts are used in game, releasing the wrath of an angry burrito to the player.
“When working on a franchise such as South Park™, finding new, irreverent and original ideas to showcase the game to the players is key” stated Guillaume Carmona, VP Marketing at Ubisoft EMEA. “With the creation of the Nosulus Rift along with Productman, we had the possibility to push the boundaries of traditional communication campaigns, creating a device purely out of the ordinary, to say the least.”

South Park: The Fractured But Whole will be available on December 6th, 2016 as a digital download and at retailers on Xbox One, PlayStation® 4 computer entertainment system and Windows PC.
