Rockers, we are just one day away from the spookiest time of the year. Halloween is upon us and with it comes all the tricks and treats that gamers have to look forward to. Whether you are throwing a party of your own or staying in to unwind after a long weekend of partying or working, there’s a variety of games that people can play in order to get in the Halloween mood. Here are five video games that will keep you busy during your sugar rush.
League of Legends
Each year League of Legends celebrates Halloween with The Harrowing. Each year when the Harrowing occurs, Riot Games releases new skins in order to commemorate the special time of year where light fades from the earth and the harvest comes to an end. For the 2016 Harrowing, the game mode Doom Bots of Doom has returned with additional tricks and horror. Can you survive against the Doom Bots and take down their dark lord, Little Devil Teemo? Summoners can purchase the Bewitching Morgana, Bewitching Tristana, and Little Devil Teemo skins to remember the event.
Guild Wars 2
Guild Wars 2 has had a long history of hosting Halloween-themed events over the years. The Mad King returns to Lion’s Arch and with him comes spooky fights, ghoulish activities, and a bunch of tricks, treats, and puns that are sure to satisfy your Halloween urges. Delve into the Mad King’s Lair and battle King Oswald Thorn himself. Try conquering the Mad King’s Clock Tower, a jumping puzzle that will have you sitting on the edge of your seat as you try to avoid one wrong step. Finally, players can fight against the undead armies in the Mad King’s Labyrinth. Try not to get lost or you may not come out of the maze alive.
Overwatch
Overwatch’s Halloween Terror features a bunch of Halloween themed extras that will have you singing This is Halloween all night long. In celebration of Overwatch Halloween Terror, 100 new Halloween-themed cosmetic items have been added to the game to unlock during the festivities. All loot boxes have become possessed after one of Dr. Junkenstein’s experiments went horribly wrong and turned them into jack-o-lanterns. Overwatch Halloween Terror features Overwatch’s first-ever PvE brawl called Junkenstein’s Revenge. Players can choose between the Alchemist (Ana), the Archer (Hanzo), the Gunslinger (McCree), and the Soldier (Soldier: 76) in order to defend Aldersbrunn castle’s doors against Dr. Junkenstein and his wicked counterparts.
Mario Kart
Whether you are at a party of a small group of friends or a massive block party, Mario Kart is always a great party choice. Even though local Mario Kart limits the amount of players that can play on one screen, it can provide countless hours of entertainment for sober and drunken party goers. Choose between battle or grand Prix and see who is the best at drifting across treacherous terrain. Mario Kart is always a great option for any party.
Grand Theft Auto Online – Lost vs. Damned
Los Santos celebrates Halloween like hell has come to earth and although the city’s name means “the saints,” the sinners of Los Santos have come out to create mischief and mayhem. During the Lost vs Damned event, GTA Online players can compete in the new Lost Vs. Damned Adversary mode. The new game mode pits teams of Angels and Demons against one another in a unique mode that plays with day and night cycles to provide buffs and scoring opportunities for each team. A new LCC Santos Motorcycle with a skull on it may be the key to summoning Ghost Rider in order to send your enemies to hell. The Grand Theft Auto festivities will continue its spooky activities until November 15th. With the festivities come a ton of unlockable in-game content and double GTA$ and RP opportunities.
