As per usual, a new week, a new group of games with Xbox One Backward Compatibility. Usually we get three games, which is true this week as well, sortof. Technically, we are getting seven. That means one of the three is a compilation title! Rejoice! Usually it is a small group of games, but this one is larger. Something a little orange tinted. That’s right! The new games in the program are:
- Galaga Legions – The original Galaga captivated players all over the world, and now… it’s back! But this isn’t just a boring remake! Featuring table-turning game dynamics, super-slick visuals and mind-blowingly vast waves of enemies, this is the definitive version! Prepare to be hit by the second stick of nostalgic dynamite
- Joe Danger 2: The Movie – Take Joe Danger on a death-defying thrill ride across the set of the greatest blockbuster movie ever made. Chase crooks on your police bike, destroy laser firing robots with a stolen jetpack, escape giant boulders in a minecart, time-travel to punch dinosaurs and divert the nuclear missiles on your unicycle!
- The Orange Box – The Orange Box is a special collection of “5 games in 1 Box,” available Winter 2007 for the PC and Xbox 360. The 5 games included in this Orange Box are: * Half-Life 2: Episode Two – The 2nd installment in Valve’s episodic trilogy. Episode Two advances the award-winning Half-Life story, while introducing new characters, weapons and environments. * Portal – Is a new single player game from Valve. Set in the mysterious Aperture Science Laboratories, Portal has been called one of the most innovative new games on the horizon and will offer gamers hours of unique gameplay. * Team Fortress 2 – The sequel to the game that put class-based, multiplayer team warfare on the map, and this year’s most anticipated online action game. * Half-Life 2 – The full version of the game that earned over 40 Game of the Year Awards and sold over 5 million copies worldwide. * Half-Life 2: Episode One – The first installment in Valve’s episodic trilogy.
*Deep breath* Wow. That’s a lot. In case you have never played The Orange Box, what is wrong with you? Go buy it and play all of these games, they are wonderful! Of course, Galaga is Galaga so it is great, and Joe Danger is…..um well…
