PlayStation 4 players have seen a much greater variety of online experiences the last few years, and that trend continues with the addition of Elite Dangerous. The acclaimed multiplayer space epic will be hitting PS4 in 2017, and will include PlayStation 4 Pro support.
The open-world adventure game boasts an immersive galaxy, with 400 billion star systems, a player-driven narrative, and, of course, massive multiplayer battles strewn across the universe. PS4 players will get every game expansion, a season pass for future content, and custom PlayStation features such as touch navigation via the touchpad, the ability to hotkey to the touchpad, and the ability to track your enemies using the motion controls of the Dualshock.
‘We’re thrilled to bring Elite Dangerous to PlayStation 4,’ said Frontier CEO and Elite co-creator David Braben. ‘Elite Dangerous is unlike any other space game, with a rich multiplayer or single-player space, a true-to-life galaxy including our own entire night sky, real physics, unique ship handling characteristics and a player-driven narrative that’s really heating up. The galaxy has been stable for centuries, but all that is about to change. PlayStation 4 players will be joining our galaxy at a very exciting time.’
While there is no official release date yet, it is expected to drop sometime in Q2, 2017.
