It sounds like the numerous rumors were true! Niantic is set to reveal the next round of Pokémon for their massively successful Pokémon Go on December 12th, as well as other possible additions to the game. This was sent in a press release, so we here at Marooners’ Rock are excited.
Rumors started this week when a barista from Starbucks leaked evidence of a Pokémon Go/Starbucks promotion.
According to the employee document, “The world of Pokémon Go is about to expand with new Pokémon and a new Starbucks beverage!”
The guide states that December 8th Starbucks across the country will become PokéStops, and offer a Pokémon Go-inspired Frappuccino. The drink will also become an icon in the game as well.
That’s on top of news that Sprint is also teaming up with Niantic to turn Sprint stores into hubs for players.
It seems like Pokémon Gen 2 is going to contain a LOT of surprises and promotions. The content boost should help satiate current players, and hopefully it will bring out some lapsed trainers back to their Pokémon.
