Get ready Mass Effect fans because the wait is almost over! BioWare’s general manager Aaryn Flynn just recently announced in a blog post that the long-awaited fourth installment of BioWare and EA’s alien RPG, Mass Effect: Andromeda will be launching in North America on March 21st , and in Europe on March 23rd for the Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC. This is exciting news for fans of the sci-fi series since it has been nearly five years since the last installment of the game. Along with this announcement, EA has also released a series of screenshots of the game and interface.
We’ve received the newly released screenshots for the space RPG courtesy of EA (via Game Informer) that show off a mixture of the environments and gameplay elements. These screenshots were released prior to the delivery of tonight’s BioWare showcase which took place during the Nvidia press conference at the Consumer Electronics Show. These screenshots give us a glimpse of what we’re in for a little over two months from now and even include some sneak peaks at the game’s HUD! If you look closely at some of the pictures in our slideshow, you may catch a glimpse of one of the missions in the top right corner of the frame. We speculate that to be one of the missions that is present in the final version of the game.
Now for those unfamiliar with details regarding the new game, Mass Effect: Andromeda is a continuation of the Mass Effect series and introduces a new character and protagonist named Ryder. Ryder will be exploring the eponymous galaxy on the behalf of the human race and in search of planets to colonize just over 600 years after the ending of Mass Effect 3. Beyond that and a few brief snippets of gameplay, for the longest time little information had been released regarding the story of our hero and other aspects and features of the game. Now, we’re really starting to get an idea of what’s to come a little more than two months from now and it’s going to be awesome!
