Netflix’s A Series of Unfortunate Events Is Out Now

A Second Adaptation for a Classic Novel Series

Netflix's A Series of Unfortunate Events

Is your favorite show on hiatus or are you looking for something new to watch? Well rockers, you are in luck because Netflix’s A Series of Unfortunate Events is out now!Netflix’s A Series of Unfortunate of Events is the second adaptation of the popular children’s novels by Lemony Snicket. A Series of Unfortunate of Events follows the lives of the three Baudelaire children: Violet, Klaus, and Sunny after the unfortunate departure of their beloved parents. The three children find themselves in the care of Count Olaf, a self-proclaimed actor, who seeks to steal the inheritance from the Baudelaire children.

The first season of Netflix’s A Series of Unfortunate Events covers the first four books of the series. The series stars renowned actors Neil Patrick Harris, Patrick Warburton, Will Arnett, K. Todd Freeman,  Joan Cusack, Usman Ally, and Tara Strong while introducing viewers to up and coming actors Malina Weissman and Louis Hynes.

Although the acting may seem forced at times, Neil Patrick Harris’s role as Count Olaf keeps the show interesting with his quirky and oddly charismatic performance. The Netflix adaptation hints at the role of the secret society and the fate of the Baudelaire parents before it was revealed in the novels. The show focuses too much on explaining the usage of words and the foreshadowing of events to come. The show makes subtle references to the audience which can be ridiculous at times but does not detract from the experience.

So far Netflix’s A Series of Unfortunate Events is a fun experience that can be watched by viewers of all ages and Neil Patrick Harris’s role as Count Olaf brings the novels to life on the home screen. If you are looking for a new series to watch then A Series of Unfortunate Events may just be the right show for you.
