Following Right Stuf’s Mobile Suit Gundam announcements earlier in the month, publisher Nozomi Entertainment today revealed its slate for the month of April 2017, which will include one sci-fi series, Martian Successor Nadesico, on Blu-ray and DVD.
The Martian Successor Nadesico Complete Collection, will be released on both DVD and Blu-ray on Apr. 4, 2017. This is the first time that the XEBEC produced sci-fi comedy anime will be released in the US on Blu-ray, and will contain all twenty-six episodes of the TV series, along with the Prince of Darkness movie, and the Gekigangar 3 OVA, for a runtime of 740 minutes. The series and movie will be presented in English and Japanese, with English subtitles.
The story of the series, follows the crew of the Nadesico, a powerful spaceship built by an independent company, to launch an offensive against the “Jovian Lizards,” alien invaders that the Earth’s military have struggled to defeat. With the unorthodox crew, though, it is hard to imagine how a ditsy captain, and a cook who also serves as a mecha suit pilot (and a pacifist), can really be the heroes that humanity needs.
Martian Successor Nadesico Complete Collection will be joining two other releases from Nozomi Entertainment’s distributor, Right Stuf Inc., in April; as its partnership with Sunrise Inc, adds the Mobile Suit Gundam Movie Trilogy on Blu-ray and Mobile Suit Gundam 0083 on DVD and Blu-ray. Mobile Suit Gundam 0083 will include the episodes 1-13 of Stardust Memory, as well as the Afterglow of Zeon. Both titles will also be available on Apr. 4, 2017.
