During its annual press event Friday, video game publisher NIS America discussed its upcoming releases while also unveiling several new titles, including one surprise pick up in a very famous Nihon Falcom developed action-RPG series.
Before getting in to the new game announcements, it was revealed that the PlayStation 4 game, The Silver Case, will feature two new chapters Yami and Whiteout Prologue, when it releases. It was also recently released on the PC.
Additionally, a few release dates for upcoming games were set. Operation Abyss: New Tokyo Legacy makes its way to Steam on Mar. 27, 2017; Cladun Returns: This Is Sengoku! is set for PlayStation Vita and Steam in North America on June 6, 2017 and Europe on June 9, 2017; Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness is heading to Steam on Apr. 24, 2017; Disgaea 5 Complete will join the Nintendo Switch lineup on May 23, 2017 in North America and May 26, 2017 in Europe; and Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony will be heading to the PlayStation 4 and Vita on Sept. 26, 2017 in North America and Sept 29, 2017 in Europe.
On to the new titles. First up, the strategy game, Tokyo Tattoo Girls for both the PlayStation Vita and PC. Developed by Sushi Typhoon Games, it is set to release later this year.
Another Touhou game was also revealed tonight, Touhou Kobuto V: Burst Battle. This title is different from the previously announced games set in the Touhou universe, as it is a 3D shoot ‘em up fighting game, with 1-2 player support, due out for the PlayStation 4 and Vita in the summer of 2017.
Culdcept Revolt, developed by Omiya Soft. and JAMSWORKS Co. Ltd., blends strategy with board and card games to offer Nintendo 3DS players a unique gameplay experience. The game is currently expected for release in the summer of 2017.
Also, heading to the Nintendo 3DS in the summer of 2017, is RPG Maker Fes. The game making title will be a welcomed addition to the handheld, that should offer plenty of options and keep players busy for hours.
The biggest surprise of the night from NIS America, came at the end, when the publisher unveiled Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA, for the PlayStation 4, Vita, and PC. The well-known action-RPG series developed by Nihon Falcom sees series protagonist Adol continuing his life of adventure, and is expected to be available in the fall of 2017. What made this the biggest surprise, more than anything else, is that the Ys games have typically been published in North America, by XSEED Games.
