Marvel fanatics and Telltale enthusiasts around the world rejoice! Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series is set to debut next month on April 18th. How will the launch of this anticipated title tie into the universe since Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 comes out on just under a month later on May 5th?

Yesterday afternoon, Telltale games announced that Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series would be coming out April 18th with this official announcement:

“Friends, Today we are excited to reveal the first ever trailer for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series, which is set to premiere the first of five episodes on April 18th for $4.99USD or equivalent on PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One®, Windows PC, and Mac, as well as available to download on the App Store® and Google Play™. The series will also be available as a special ‘Season Pass Disc’ on May 2nd at retailers across North America for an MSRP of $29.99 USD, and on May 5th at retailers elsewhere across the globe. The special ‘Season Pass Disc’ will include Episode One: Tangled Up in Blue, and will grant access to download the subsequent four episodes via online updates as they are released in the coming months of 2017. Additional platforms for release are yet to be announced.”

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series will be an all new adventure featuring a brand new story with the characters you know and love. After an epic battle, the team discovers an artifact that is rumored to grant the user unspeakable power. Can the guardians protect the artifact or will Thanos and his allies rip it from their cold dead hands?
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series  will feature a star-studded cast of voice talent, including Scott Porter (Friday Night Lights, The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series) as Star-Lord, Emily O’Brien (The Young and the Restless, Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor) as Gamora, Nolan North (the Uncharted series, Pretty Little Liars) as Rocket, Brandon Paul Eells (Watch Dogs) as Drax, and Adam Harrington (The Wolf Among Us, League of Legends) as Groot.
Players will experience the adventures of the guardians through the eyes of Starlord; use his rocket-powered boots to get out of sticky situations or from a combat advantage, all while listening to his favorite mixtapes. How will your decisions impact the fate of the universe? Although it would have been awesome to have the cast of the movies voice their characters in the game, Telltale did a great job when selecting voice actors to replace them.
