Earlier this week rumors abounded that the next Call of Duty would return to its roots and take Call of Duty players back to the Era of the last great war. Over the last decade, since the last World War 2 themed Call of Duty was released the world has changed drastically and many around the world suspect that another great war could be upon us at any time. Last year, EA had players dive into the perspective of World War 1 soldiers to relive the first great war that had countries around the world agree to a treaty with the hopes of avoiding such a catastrophic event once again.
Although the world reveal for Call of Duty WW2 is three days away, there has been a supposed leak regarding Call of Duty WW2’s campaign; the campaign should be told through the perspective of the Allies, and touts a “gritty, intense journey through the battlegrounds of war” with higher-end “bold, lifelike visuals found in cinematic blockbusters.” The co-op mode will be a stand alone experience with its own storyline; the multiplayer will be a boots on the ground experience that will throw players into the most iconic locations of World War 2.

According to the supposed leak, Call of Duty World War 2 will release on November 3, 2017. That supposed release date lines up with the normal Call of Duty release cycle but seems a little bit early compared to previous release dates. How will Sledgehammer games innovate the Call of Duty franchise and how will they handle returning to the ground base war zone of World War 2? Hopefully, Call of Duty WW2 will create a memorable experience like Call of Duty: World at War provided. Which video game company will obtain the exclusive rights to Call of Duty WW2’s DLC throughout the year, Microsoft or Sony? A multiplayer beta should be available sometime during the middle of September.
