During its industry panel at Anime Central is Rosemont, Illinois over the weekend, anime publisher Aniplex of America revealed that several its titles would be seeing Blu-ray releases in the coming months, as well as plans to stream the animated film, The Moment You Fall in Love, in June.
The first of the titles getting a Blu-ray release is Occult;Nine, the A-1 Pictures produced anime series, based on the light novels by Steins;Gate creator, Chiyomaru Shikura. The first set ($99.98) releases Sept. 26, 2017, it will include episodes one through six of the series. The second set ($99.98) has episodes seven through twelve and is slated for Dec. 26, 2017. Each of the sets will also include a deluxe booklet, illustration pin-up cards, and special packaging design illustrated by Tomoaki Takase. The Blu-ray collections will include English and Spanish subtitles, as well as Japanese and English audio.
Also, getting a Blu-ray release beginning this summer, is the WWW.WAGNARIA!! series, based on Karino Takatsu’s popular webcomic. This series will also be divided in to two sets, both including illustration postcards and packaging illustrated by character designer Mayuko Nakano. Volume one ($89.98) will house episodes one through seven and is slated for release on July 18, 2017, while volume two ($89.98) includes episodes eight through thirteen and will be available on Oct. 17, 2017. The series will be presented in Japanese with English subtitles.
In what is a rare occurrence for the publisher, Aniplex of America also revealed that Blue Exorcist (based on Kazue Kato’s manga) will be getting a complete box set release this summer. The set has an SRP of $199.98 and releases on June 27, 2017. It includes all twenty-five episodes plus the OVA episode “Kuro Runs Away from Home” and the bonus short “Ura-Eku,” presented with English and Japanese audio and English subtitles. The complete box set will include a rigid box with illustrations from character designer Keigo Sasaki, as well as a mini-pinup poster.
Aniplex of America also revealed that beginning on June 6, 2017, it would begin streaming the animated film, The Moment You Fall in Love, exclusively through Crunchyroll. The Moment You Fall in Love is the second in the two-part short film series, following I’ve always Liked You, based on the videos and songs by the Vocaloid music unit, HoneyWorks. It follows Hina Setoguchi, as she finally works up the courage to confess her love to Koyuki Ayase, whom she has been attracted to since middle school.
The publisher also announced a bit of mobile gaming news recently, as it unveiled a Facebook campaign for the upcoming mobile game, Fate/Grand Order, which is expected to release this summer for both iOS and Android devices. As fans of the games and anime “like” the game’s official Facebook page, they will unlock various tiers of in-game rewards, including Saint Quartz, Craft Essence, and Hero Crystals, for use in-game.
