Surprising news for Halo fans, Halo 6 will not be featured at this years Microsoft’s E3 press show.
The news comes from an employee of 343 industries, who posted on the Halo subreddit stating that Halo 6 will not be present. However, they will be showing something else.
343 Industries are the current guardians of the franchise since the departure of Bungie a decade ago. 343 Industries have released two core titles for the franchise, so far, and work on the 6th installment is in development.
I’ll slip into my Dreamcrusher persona for a minute in the name of realistic expectations: We’ve said this already but we’ll have a little something at E3 but it’s not related to the next major entry in the franchise. – Ske7tch343
However, there is no concrete answer to what will be shown during their presentation and a good question to be asking ourselves is; What will be shown? Could it be DLC for the recently released Halo Wars 2? A new Map Pack for Halo 5:Guardians? A spin-off series with Agent Locke?
We may see news of a new Halo entry at next year’s E3. A core entry in the series usually reveals itself between two to three years since the last entry and the time between has been filled with a side game as was the case with ODST and Halo Wars. We cannot wait until the Chief makes an appearance again, which we may not see until 2018 or 2019. I for one, cannot wait until I’m back in the saddle kicking alien butt and flirting with an A.I.
If you’re interested in watching the Xbox presentation, it will be held Sunday, June 11th, at 2:00 pm PDT (5:00pm EST). Even though the game won’t be shown, we still have plenty of surprises that Xbox will be showing off, including Scorpio, and whatever 343 has in store for us this year.
