For weeks, Call of Duty Zombies players have been on the edge of their seats waiting to hear if the rumor was true regarding a fifth DLC for Call of Duty Black Ops 3. The rumors were caused due to title updates and supposed leak content. The rumor stated that Treyarch would be releasing a fifth DLC for a game that is almost two years old; the fifth DLC will be called Zombie Chronicles.
In order to officially announce the upcoming release of Black Ops 3 Zombies Chronicles DLC, Treyarch’s Co-Studio Head Jason Blundell went on to famous zombies YouTuber JCbackfire’s channel to make the official announcement. Jason Blundell verified that the rumor of a fifth DLC called Zombies Chronicles was accurate by unzipping his hoodie and revealing a shirt imprinted with Call of Duty Black Ops 3 Zombies Chronicles on the front of it.
During the interview, Jason Blundell announced that Zombies Chronicles will feature eight remastered Zombies maps; the eight zombies maps are: Shangri-la, Nacht Der Untoten, Kino Der Toten, Moon, Shi No Numa, Ascension, Verrukt, and Origins When asked why those maps were chosen, Blundell stated that the Black Ops 3 community has grown so exponentially and a lot of its members did not get to experience the eight maps that were so significant to the Zombies storyline.
The new zombies’ map pack will most likely not be included as part of the Call of Duty Black ops 3 Season Pass and will most likely cost players fifteen to twenty dollars. Zombies Chronicles DLC will be available to purchase and download starting on May 16th first on PlayStation 4. During the live stream, Jason Blundell also showed off a unique poster chronicling the zombies’ storyline and the path that Richtofen took leading up to the events of Revelations in Black Ops 3.
On Monday, May 8th, Treyarch will be holding a live stream sharing additional information regarding the upcoming Zombies Chronicles DLC and additional content that will be coming with the new map pack. Since the official announcement, Treyarch has been updating their twitter profile banner with different artwork of the original zombies’ cast; So far only Nikolai and Richtofen have been depicted and these banners are rumored to be Calling cards that players will receive after purchasing the new DLC. The new DLC is rumored to have five unique calling cards, one for each of the original characters and an animated zombies heroes calling cards; players will also supposedly receive a tin can camouflage.
